To create your mermaid makeup Halloween you will need blue and gold/yellow body paint, fake blood, pearls, prosthetics, and false eyelashes.
First, apply any prosthetics you are using. Whether you are using pre-made pieces, creating your own from latex or putty, or using cardboard, make sure your pieces are ready to go in advance. On the day of your event or photoshoot, apply these first and then cover them with your base colour. You may need to add some colour correction to match your skin tone if your prosthetic is a bright shade.
Apply your base colour for your Halloween mermaid makeup. In this case, Carrie blended blue tones and added subtle scales to create a more detailed effect. Next, to complete your makeup, add your second colour to your forehead in scale shapes. For this design, Carrie has chosen gold which contrasts beautifully with the blue base. Make sure to line your eyes and apply mascara, paint on your chosen lip colour, and flick on fake blood. If you want to create a splatter effect, use a toothbrush or similar tool to get this effect. Alternatively, you can try a blood drip design by allowing the fake blood to naturally drip over your face. For the final accessories, stick on your pearls and apply your false eyelashes.
The last step is to add your coloured contact lenses to your costume makeup look. Our favourite evil Siren styles include:
