Black Mini Sclera Contact Lenses (30 Day)

Mini sclera contact lenses are a type of coloured contacts that cover some of the sclera (the white of your eyes). They are different from full sclera contact lenses but do give the effect of big eye contacts. The diameter of the lens varies but tends to be between 15mm – 17mm which is larger than regular coloured contacts. In comparison, full sclera contact lenses are usually 22mm in diameter and regular contact lenses range between 13.8 – 14.2mm. At Coloured Contacts, you will find the diameter and other specifications in the product description to help you choose coloured lenses that are suitable for your eyes.

What is a scleral contact lens?

A scleral contact lens is a lens that is larger than the iris of the eye. The sclera of the eye is the white of the eye therefore sclera contact lenses describe styles that cover part or all of the white of the eye.

There is some evidence to suggest that full sclera contacts cheap could potentially cause harm to the eye. They are not designed to be worn as a daily lens and instead should only be worn for a few hours at a time. This is to allow the eye to ‘breath’. It is also important to thoroughly clean the lenses when inserting sclera contacts because the sclera of the eye is highly sensitive and could be susceptible to infection. Always check that you are purchasing coloured contact lenses from a reputable supplier.

Just like all our coloured contacts lenses, our mini sclera contact lenses are made from a soft breathable material for comfort. These lenses are CE Marked and FDA Approved so you can feel confident knowing our contact lenses are fit for purpose and safe to use.

At Coloured Contacts, we supply a range of Halloween mini sclera lenses which are 15mm contact lenses or mini sclera 17mm, designed to cover only some of the sclera (white of the eye). This reduces the risk to your eye and can also make them feel more comfortable.

Another benefit of the 17mm and 15mm contacts is that they are easier to insert than full sclera contacts as they are only a few millimetres larger than regular coloured contact lenses. This difference in size is noticeable once the contacts are inserted, making the effect perfect for SFX Horror Costumes.

We stock mini sclera contacts in a range of classic Halloween colours so you will always have a lens to pair with your Halloween costume.

Black Mini Sclera Contact Lenses

Topping the list of scary Halloween contact lenses is black mini sclera contacts. These creepy lenses will give a hollowed-out look to your eye as they blend with your black pupil while also giving the illusion of increasing the size of your iris. The larger diameter means the mini sclera black contact lenses give even more coverage than our Black Halloween Coloured Contacts for a truly terrifying costume effect.

With a clear hole for the pupil, you will be able to see with these black coloured contact lenses so they are suitable for wearing to parties and Halloween events. The daily duration is perfect for a one-off costume event as the lenses will be light and breathable to wear and can also simply be thrown away once the party is over.

Red Mini Sclera Contact Lenses

One of the most iconic Halloween colours; the red mini sclera contacts are always a great choice for your vampire and demon costumes but can add a creepy new dimension to a range of other Halloween ghouls too. The red sclera contacts are designed with a vibrant block of red colour, suitable for covering a range of eye colours. These big red eyes are sure to give the illusion that you have been possessed by the devil at your next Halloween party.

White Mini Sclera Contact Lenses

White mini sclera contacts give a ghostly effect to the eye. Leaving the black pupil visible in the middle, the larger diameter of the contact lenses means your entire eye will have a spooky white colour. The lens will blend in with the white of your eye to give the illusion that your pupil is a small pinprick in the centre. These scary contact lenses are often used by customers and affiliates wanting to create convincing zombie characters and also look awesome when paired with skull makeup. The white mini sclera contact lenses are a great alternative to blind effect contact lenses as they have a transparent pupil hole, leaving your vision clear.

If you are a regular user of coloured contact lenses then you should have no problem in using the mini sclera design with a wider diameter. If you are new to coloured contacts it can take a little longer to get used to the feel of mini sclera lenses but it is not as big a difference as changing from regular coloured contact lenses to full sclera contact lenses. The lenses should feel comfortable once inserted. If you are experiencing any discomfort with your contact lenses or need advice for inserting your contacts, why not head to our Care guides for pages about Troubleshooting Lens Discomfort and Inserting Contact Lenses?

Here are just some of the classic Halloween characters you can create using mini scleral lenses:

  • Zombie Costumes
  • Vampire Costumes
  • Witch/Occult Costumes
  • Demon Costumes
  • Ghost Costumes
  • Skull Makeup

Mini sclera offers a cheaper alternative to sclera contact lenses UK and these crazy contact lenses will still give a creepy look to your eyes whether you are pairing with an SFX or Halloween costume. Mini Sclera Contact Lenses prove year after year that they are one of the most desirable styles of Halloween contact lenses and are one of the most versatile when it comes to creating all kinds of monsters and characters.
