Buy Realistic Fake Blood from Coloured Contacts

We’ve extended our already huge range of products into cosmetics so that you can continue to amplify and enrich your makeup, fancy dress or Cosplay creations. If horror is your thing and you love to freak out your friends then you can’t go wrong with a bit of special effect blood. Whether you are making a fake scar, dripping nose or smothering your hands in this bright red liquid, we’ll have the perfect product for you. Here is a quick guide to all the different types of fake blood we stock and what each can be used for:

  • Dripping Fake Blood for Halloween: some of our blood types are designed to stay moist and maintain the gloopy look of real blood. This is a perfect choice for those looking for extreme horror effects where the blood just pools off of the wearer. The realistic look of this dripping SFX blood is sure to make anyone double-take in horror!
  • Smearable Fake Blood for Halloween: great for rubbing all over your hands and arms to recreate a murderous look! With these products, the blood will dry quickly so will cause overall less mess without missing out on the super scary special effects. This blood is great for zombies or undead monster costumes at Halloween.
  • Fake Blood Spray: a selection of our products come in a handy spray bottle for a unique application style. The pump spray top makes larger applications easier and can create a fun finish. The spray look can be great for vampires or demons where the blood spray can mimic the bloodied effect of the creatures’ victim.

Now you know about the different types of fake blood, here’s everything you need to know about the brands we currently stock. We provide as much information as possible so you can decide which is the best fake blood for you. If you are looking for bigger bottles for bigger projects or looks then we recommend choosing a bigger bottle of Mehron for its larger volume. Paintglow products tend to be smaller but are still a great idea for subtle looks and finishing touches. Find out more about our fake blood brands here:

  • Mehron Fake Blood: Mehron is a huge name in the SFX makeup industry with a wealth of products dedicated to gory special effects to a stage-level quality. These products as dubbed as being ‘used by the professionals’ and as you can see from the finished effects just how good they look when applied. You’ll find many of the artists in the Coloured Contacts Gallery use Mehron makeup alongside our lenses.
  • Paintglow Fake Blood: these pocket-sized pouches of fake blood are a perfect add-on accessory. These small, affordable fake blood tubes contain just enough product to create a small wound or mini splatter effect. Sometimes, this is all you need to add that little extra finishing touch. Get creative with how you use these small tubes and see what kind of wild looks you can create.

Whilst it can be fun to try a fake blood recipe and go all DIY at home, we think it's so much easier to try a pre-made product that you know is safe and effective. Choose from different types, colour shades and application types for some different finished effects and looks.

How To Apply Fake Blood Effectively

If you’re new to makeup and SFX cosmetics, it can be helpful to have a pointer or two regarding how best to apply the products. Applying fake blood is super easy as there can be no right or wrong answers to create a splatter or smear - in most cases, the wilder the better. However, there are some considerations to think about when applying your fake blood:

  1. Planning for Perfection: some kind of a plan can help when it comes to your fake blood. After all, once applied it can take a bit of effort to remove and clean off entirely. Apply in small amounts and consider using a brush or sponge to allow for more precise application around an accessory, SFX wound or part of a full makeup look.
  2. Be Careful of Spillage: you do not want fake blood on your carpet, upholstery or even on your fancy dress costume. Be careful with application and ensure you keep anything you don’t want blood on well covered during application. With this in mind, it’s worth sticking to fake blood that dries so that you can limit what else might get covered.
  3. Protect The Lenses: we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, but make sure that none of our contact lenses come into contact with fake blood. We would recommend applying fake blood AFTER the lenses have been inserted. However, if this is not possible, ensure that you thoroughly wash your hands to remove any fake blood.

When it comes to Halloween blood, we think you’ll love what we’ve got to offer. All of the products are a great way to amplify any Halloween costume and add some extra scare. With contact lenses from Coloured Contacts and some SFX fake blood cosmetics in your costume, we’re sure that your next Halloween look will be the scariest one yet.
