Which coloured lenses look good on dark brown eyes?
If you are looking for good coloured lenses on brown eyes there are a few factors to check, starting with the coverage and opacity of the lenses. Costume lenses usually offer a block of colour but some natural lenses have colour pigment that does not cover the entire lens to allow the colour to blend with your natural iris. Look for vibrant colours and find examples of people with dark eyes wearing the lenses.
To help you easily identify lenses that offer a complete natural change, use our transparency scale to shop Vibrant Lenses. Enhancing Lenses usually don’t cover brown eyes so are best left for blending or enhancing lighter eye colours. If you are looking for contacts for dark brown eyes then make sure to read the product information and refer to our affiliate pictures to see how the lenses may look on your eye colour.
Coloured Contacts’ new ranges of Jewel and Nature themed colours are designed to cover all eye colours so you will see bright pigmentation that transforms dark eyes. Check out the pictures below to see the effects that these new coloured contacts for dark eyes are having.
To help you choose the perfect lenses for you, we have sent out the lenses to be tested by our affiliates who have a range of different eye colours which you will see in this lookbook.

Will green contacts work on brown eyes?
Green contacts work over brown eyes if you choose lenses that have excellent coverage. Finding a vibrant and highly pigmented natural lens will help you to achieve green eye coverage over your natural iris. Whether you already have hazel eyes and want to bring out the green tones or fancy a daily change from your dark brown eyes, green contact lenses offer rich tones when you choose the right pair of green colour contacts for brown eyes.
Our Jade green contacts on dark brown eyes offer a jewel-toned iris colour paired with a dark limbal ring. The detailed lens design allows the lenses to cover dark eye colours successfully. They also look amazing on light eye colours as demonstrated by @nicolleslooks. Make sure to stop by her Instagram page to see her try on the other colours from our new range.
In contrast, Leaf Green Lenses take their inspiration from nature and offer a lighter shade of green in comparison to the Jade Green Lenses. The beautiful soft shade looks realistic over the iris. Leaf green seems to be fast becoming a favourite for a natural change on dark eye colours. These natural contact lenses for dark eyes offer a soft green colour that looks amazing with a range of skin tones.

Will blue contacts work on brown eyes?
Blue contacts will work on brown eyes if you choose a style that is highly pigmented. Bright colours with excellent coverage are more likely to cover brown eyes than designs with less pigmentation as it allows the lens to completely cover your brown iris. Shades such as Blue Sapphire and Sky Blue by Chromaview offer this effect.
Our new range of natural contact lenses is designed to change or enhance all eye colours. As you can see from @nicolleslooks she is enjoying the subtle effect that the Sapphire Blue lenses are having on her naturally blue/grey eyes.
However, you can see from @ceci_beauty that Sapphire Blue looks equally as vibrant on brown eyes. The design of these lenses has detailed pigmentation paired with a natural pattern for a realistic yet vibrant colour change.
For a more subtle blue change or if you prefer an ice aqua blue colour, try the Sky Blue Lenses. This light blue pigmentation proves that looks can be deceiving because it can still cover dark eyes as you will see in Ashley and Malrie’s videos. Check out these before and after pictures of the Sky Blue Lenses on @nonam_zenitram_odelot’s brown eyes to see a close-up of the colour results.
Will grey contacts work for brown eyes?
Grey contact lenses can look amazing over brown eyes but they will only work if you choose grey lenses that are made for brown eyes. This usually means that they have more intense pigmentation than enhancing coloured contacts in order to ensure that they are the best coloured contacts for brown eyes.
The Pearl Grey Lenses from the Jewel range feature a light grey colour with a dark limbal ring. If you are looking for grey contacts, these are the best coloured contact lenses for dark eyes as demonstrated by Ashley who has naturally dark brown eyes. See the instant and vibrant colour change when she inserts the Pearl Grey Lenses in this try on video and hear what she thought of these new lenses.
In contrast, the Mist Grey Coloured Contacts are the most natural colour contact lenses for dark eyes. They offer a soft grey colour with no limbal ring which makes the design more subtle than the Pearl Grey Lenses while still offering a bright and noticeable colour change. Take a look at Nicolle’s makeup look with the Mist Grey Coloured Contacts.
