January
In January, we were still riding the wave of excitement around Avatar: The Way Of Water. Our talented MUAs created their own Avatar characters and in @makeupmadhouse’s case, recreated an entire scene as body paint. Our Yellow Avatar Lenses were a popular choice for these Avatar makeup looks.
It was an exciting month at the cinema with the release of the anticipated horror movie, M3gan. Again, our affiliates absolutely smashed their M3gan makeup looks. Check out @hollymurraymakeup trying this on trend makeup.
February
During February, it was the turn of our natural coloured contacts to take centre stage. Our range of jewel and nature coloured contacts has been one of our favourite product launches to date. The vibrant colours that can cover all eye colours including dark brown are the perfect blend of natural and glam. See @beckycornwall.m.u.a’s try on video to watch her eyes transform.
We couldn’t resist sharing a good dose of creative makeup too. This art sketch makeup is one of the new makeup trends we saw in 2023. @ssipe_ is a master of this intriguing style. Check out her Instagram to see more unusual makeup designs.
March
Our focus shifted to cosplay during March as we got warmed up for cosplay season. Seeing all the amazing cosplays with endless character choices is always exciting! We love scrolling through our Instagram feed to see which character you are cosplaying next. In particular, @carlaa.quinn’s Grogu cosplay is such a fun idea. This cute oversized costume and large green ears give the illusion that she is the size of The Child. Join us for cosplay season and tag us in your makeup ideas for anime and pop culture cosplay or see our range of cosplay coloured contacts here.
April
In April, we released a new range of costume coloured contact lenses and our amazing affiliates immediately got to work creating fun creative looks with these lenses.
April also marked the launch of the Super Mario Movie. @caykeface celebrated the occasion by creating a makeup series of the starring characters from the movie. Her amazing blend of prosthetics and body paint allowed her to create this fun Bowser makeup.
May
In May, we surprised you with a second launch of even more costume coloured contacts. With a few more pink and purple lenses available and the Red Akuma Target Lenses ready for Jigsaw during Halloween, you seemed to love the new collection as much as we do!
We also launched our Naturals Quiz to help you find your perfect pair of lenses based on your natural eye colour and the results you are hoping to achieve. This has been added to our collection of quizzes for natural and costume lenses. See all our quizzes here to get your personalised results.
June
In June, we shone a spotlight on a range of inspiring Pride Month makeup looks. Supporting and listening to every person in our community is so important to us so to be able to share such amazing work and stories throughout the month was a huge highlight. We are still in awe of @theblakeover’s stunning pride makeup look and shared the story behind this powerful design.
July
In July, we teamed up with @makeupmadhouse for our summer collaboration. This year she created a fun marine life body art and octopus makeup tutorial.
July was the month of Barbie-mania. It seemed like our entire Instagram feed turned hot pink and we got to see Barbie and Ken in their many fabulous outfits. Check out some of our Barbie highlights in this Instagram post. This was one of the biggest make up trends of the year and we don’t think Barbie has had her last outing yet.
August
We began August with this epic Hades video by @theblakeover. We will be taking makeup tips from this flawless design.
In August, we started sending out our Halloween PR Packages so if you are hoping to sign up as an affiliate for the Halloween season, make sure to get your application in early, here.
September
During September, our affiliates came up with some incredible original makeup ideas including this freaky brain makeup by @mua_theresa that she turned into a full-on music video.
We also got to see some of our new lenses in action. We never imagined that our Green Ogre Lenses would be used in such a creative design by @lilicrsjy. Her eyeliner styles are so pretty and detailed; make sure to follow along for the latest eyeliner trends.
October
We were treated to some incredible horror movie releases in October, with classic Halloween characters making a comeback in The Exorcist: Believer, The Nun 2, and Saw X. Your favourite was the Jigsaw makeup looks inspired by Saw X. Check out @sammyjosbeautycase and @causeandfxmakeup in their Billy the Puppet costumes below.
November
In November, we had yet another product launch! This time we released a new range of vibrant natural lenses with a fantasy theme. Nymph Purple, Siren Green, Elven Blue, and Pixie Pink make up the Fantasy Coloured Contacts range. @makeupmadhouse created a full makeup series to showcase each of these lenses with glam fantasy makeup. Try out these gorgeous eye makeup looks yourself or create your own fantasy looks using the fantasy lenses.
December
This Christmas, you created so many amazing festive makeup looks including some unusual characters from movies and adverts.
