Check out Carrie’s (A.K.A @makeupmadhouse) Halloween zombie makeup tutorial below to get amazing tips from a professional makeup artist and you will soon be creating your own amazing zombie costume.
Make sure you have everything you need for your zombie Halloween makeup at Coloured Contacts:
- Green, White, Black and Yellow Face Paint - Choose highly pigmented colours from our collection by renowned brands such as Paintglow and Mehron.
- Mehron Bruise Wheel - Enhance and contour your zombie makeup with the bruise wheel colours.
- Fake Blood - If you want to create the same effect as @makeupmadhouse, pick up the Mehron Stage Blood in Dark Venous and Bright Arterial. This syrup-based fake blood is designed to drip for a gory fresh look.
- Blood Capsules - If you want to create the bonus step and have blood dripping from your mouth, you will need blood capsules that you can fill up with your Mehron Stage Blood.
- Coloured Contact Lenses - For her makeup, @makeupmadhouse adds the Grey Undead Coloured Contacts to her zombie makeup.
You can make this look your own; as Carrie mentions in the video you could pick a different colour theme such as grey. You can also experiment with the coloured contact lenses for your Halloween zombie makeup. We love adding Grey Costume Contact Lenses to zombie makeup or for extra gore, the Blood Splat Coloured Contacts.
In Carrie’s tutorial video, she explains in detail how to do each step of this easy zombie makeup but you can also find it simplified and broken down into written instructions below. We love Carrie’s tutorial videos; they are easy to follow along and always have great tips!
- Step 1: Apply your green face paint. To make a colour similar to Carrie, mix green with a little bit of white, black and yellow to add depth to the shade.
- Step 2: Use your Mehron bruise wheel to add dark red around your eyes. Add hints of dark blue on top. Continue this colour combination to contour your face including the nose, forehead, cheeks, chin, and collarbone.
- Step 3: Add hints of yellow from the Mehron bruise wheel.
- Step 4: Set your makeup with powder.
- Step 5: Add red eyeliner to give your eyes the undead zombie look.
- Step 6: Apply fake blood. Use Mehron Stage Blood to create gory streaks, drips and even handprints.
- Step 7: Insert your coloured contacts. Make sure you have thoroughly washed your hands before handling your contact lenses.
- Bonus Step: Fill up a blood capsule and place it in your mouth. Bite down on the capsule to let the fake blood drip out of your mouth. Make sure to only use types of fake blood that are safe for use in the mouth.
After your zombie face paint, you can add extra details such as a wig. Carrie’s tip is to make sure to colour your eyebrows with makeup to match your wig. You can also add your own DIY costume. A classic zombie look is to take an old outfit and add rips, fake blood, and fake dirt as if you are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
