We have had the pleasure of working with Chris for many years, supplying cosplay contact lenses for his cosplays and creative makeup looks. Check out his Coloured Contacts Affiliate Profile to see many examples of his work from pop culture superheroes to iconic anime characters to infamous Fortnite skins. You will be able to see which contact lenses he pairs with each character and get to know his favourite lenses.
One of Chris’ most frequently used contact lenses is the Aqua Blue Ice Walker Lens. This vibrant blue is a costume design that gives you bright blue eyes. For blue-eyed pop culture characters, this lens creates a bold result that adds to the overall art style of the body paint.
He also loves to create an eerie blank-eyed stare with White Blind Colored Contacts. These lenses do obscure vision but as you can see, look amazing in photoshoots.
During the Halloween season, you will see Chris change from his usual pop culture and anime cosplays to spooky horror movie characters and classic Halloween costumes. He has taken on Pennywise, Chucky, and Valak to name a few.
To create your own cosplay makeup and try out the techniques in Chris’ book, you will need to stock up on supplies which can all be bought at Coloured Contacts:
Step 1: Choose your cosplay contact lenses. Match your eye colour to your chosen character or get a bright costume design to make your iris look like a cartoon or anime eye; there are many colours and designs to choose from in our Cosplay Contact Lenses collection.
Step 2: Start or refresh your collection of creative makeup. We stock popular brands such as Mehron and Paintglow so you can get products with intense pigmentation that are designed to last throughout your cosplay event. Stock up on your most used colours with single pots or get a multicoloured palette if it is your first time. If you are a regular cosplayer, here’s your reminder to check the expiry dates on your makeup and treat yourself to some new colours. You will find body paints including white clown makeup, fake blood, SFX products such as scarring gels, and colourful lipsticks.
Step 3: Stop by our makeup accessories. You are going to need tools to apply all that makeup. From beauty sponges for creating the perfect blend for your sci fi skin colour to powder puffs for applying white clown paint, we have got the tools you need to complete your makeup.
Step 4: Don’t forget contact lens accessories. Whichever type of coloured contact lenses you are using, whether they are single-use or reusable, you will need to soak them in fresh contact lens solution for at least 2 hours before use. Make sure to add lens solution and a case to your cart. If you are travelling with your contact lenses, we have compact kits so you can take everything you need to insert your contact lenses at your cosplay event. Worried about inserting your contact lenses? First-time contact lens wearers are often concerned about getting their contact lenses in and out of their eye but there are tools available to help make it easier.
Now you are all stocked up on your supplies, all that is left to do is wait for your @rainbowskinz’ book, The Art Of Cosplay And Creative Makeup, to arrive. Show your support by following Chris on Instagram and get the latest news.
We took part in a giveaway for the release of his book so if you don’t want to miss out on any future giveaway announcements make sure to follow @colouredcontacts and @rainbowskinz and don’t forget to tag us if you try out any of the techniques in the book!
