@nickiteal is covered in a white base with unsettlingly thick black lines around the mouth and eyes to recreate Art the Clown’s infamous look. Nicki creatively uses Art’s greyscale palette to invent depth in new areas of her face with some grey lines. It also highlights the fake blood splatter sprayed across her face. Our Black Spiral clown lenses reflect this black-and-white theme, and with the use of prosthetics, Nicki looks appropriately nightmarish in her Art the Clown look.

The character first appeared in The 9th Circle (2008) and reappeared in another short story, Terrifier (2011), before finally making it to the big screen in All Hallows’ Eve (2013). These short horror films which feature in All Hallows’ Eve, rocketed Art the Clown to infamy as the most terrifying clown in town.

@sapphireivesfx uses the Black Hellraiser clown colored contacts in her skillful recreation of this iconic creepy clown. Carrying the black and white paint down onto her chest, shoulders, and arms, Sapphire also goes all out with the blood splatters to create a terrifying image.

Attempting to differentiate from other infamous clowns, it was decided that Art would have no hair, no color, and wouldn’t speak, appearing as a twisted and terrifying version of a French mime. Check out our range of SFX makeup for your clown costume this Halloween; our Mehron SFX Clown Makeup provides the perfect white base for your Art the Clown costume, or get colorful with some UV or neon paints!

@riannashah.mua is petrifying in her rendition of Art the Clown. Using our Trauma clown contact lenses with a blood splatter design in her gory look, there is plenty of fake blood splattered everywhere, making it perfect for Halloween.

Our Mehron Stage Blood is the perfect contrast for this iconic black-and-white look. Amp up the gore with a bit of this super vibrant fake blood to capture the slasher Halloween spirit of these infamous films.

Given the incredible looks that are being produced, this horror legend is probably going to be a popular Halloween costume for years to come.

But if you don’t want to dress up as Art the Clown this year, don’t fret. Check out some of these other scary clown looks below:

This amazing neon UV makeup from @caykeface uses a mix of the Phantom White lens and the Clown lens in this talentedly frightful look. Painting a foam prosthetic mask, the wide grin stretching from ear to ear is reminiscent of the Joker, another fan-favourite clown character that is always a popular choice to recreate on Halloween.

@martaitken.artistry recreates a young Micahel Myers after his young first kill from the cult classic film Halloween (2007). The painted eye mask also looks impressively 3D, with blood splatter following the contours of the mask. The Black Mini Sclera clown contacts top off the look alongside his scarily deadpan expression, appearing lifeless behind the eyes.

This colorful look by @courteneydunn_mua uses a blend of pink and a sickly yellow-green that she brings down onto her chest to bring this jester-like clown look to life. The classic white clown base makes these colors pop and highlights the finishing touch of fake blood. The Rinne Ring clown lenses are brought out by the hypnotizing swirls on her face and add to her lost expression.

Stuck picking between two costumes this Halloween? Be like @sallyquinncreations, who combines two fan-favourite characters in the crossover look between Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Harley Quinn. Using the White Out Zombie colored contact lenses, she has also painted half her body in an impressive mash of these two icons.

Although everyone loves to add a bit of gore on Halloween - especially after binging all our favourite slasher films - you don’t have to lose all the sparkles! @nicolleslooks is bringing the glam this Halloween in her creative “Clown Chic” look. The classic dark makeup around the eyes is dotted with black and white gems, and her cheeks and lips are painted a bold, hot pink, also highlighted with matching gems. With the Crazy Clown contact lenses, she toes the line between demonic and gorgeous to give us this amazing makeup look!

@atarahmayhew also looks amazing in this greyscale look paired with the White Manson colored contact lenses. If you’re not a fan of gore, Atarah proves that you can pull off an amazing costume this Halloween without having to splash around with fake blood. Stick to black and white paint and you can still have a fantastically creepy look.

@sammyjosartistry takes your typical fairground clown look and gives it an otherworldly sense of horror, with sharp black outlined with red and white highlights to give the appearance that her skin is ripping. Her clown look also features Joker-esque cuts across the cheek, resulting in an uncomfortably wide grin. Combined with the unsettlingly bright Yellow Angelic crazy clown contact lenses, emphasized by the dark paint around her eyes, this is a certifiably spooky look.

So, feeling inspired to be a clown this Halloween? Take a look at our best clown contact lenses to find the perfect pair for the finishing touches to your Halloween costume this year.
